Do liverpool people still have a bad name?

Recommended Posts

We have a dentist moving in a few doors down and he clearly has a scouse accent

WE know you once had to be wary of people with scouse accents but surely this is on longer the case.

Our car is garaged at night so there is no danger of going to the car one day and finding that all the wheels have gone missing.

Perhaps we are judging this guy unfairly but should we be concerned and will we be ok leaving the car out on front. He probably won't remove the wheels.

Perhaps we are judging this guy unfairly...

Probably.

You really should judge each individual person on their own merit, rather than making assumptions about them purely on the basis of whatever group it is they belong to.

That said, I tend to find I'm quite cautious with people from Liverpool. I have the impression that they're very insular and somewhat cut-off culturally from the rest of England. I've also had negative experiences when dealing with companies from Liverpool in the past.

One thing's for sure though; if you give them a genuine chance, and approach people with positive expectations, you're a lot more likely to get a positive friendly response. Good luck!

You never know, he'll probably be able to get into your garage! :hihi:

Is this for real????

What's wrong with scousers? never met a bad one and I know quite a few! Also work closely with many of my clients that are based in Liverpool and I find them to be no less or no more trusting than anyone else from anywhere else.

I'm a native Scouser but I'm not going to bite at this obvious and very poor trolling attempt. I think this thread should probably just be removed to be honest, it's pretty pathetic. You'd think people would have better things to do in their lives, particularly in the run up to Christmas.

I really do hope it is someone just having a laugh and 'trolling' as you say...

It really is an idiotic assumption.

I think everyone should just calm down, calm down.

This is very worrying. What area are you in?

I think that it's your duty to print off some flyers to make everyone else aware.

I think the bad reputation Liverpool and Liverpudlians (unfairly) have, came from the establishment and the right wing national media in the eighties and it just stuck. 1, Liverpool had a socialist council that stuck its fingers up to the Thatcher government, and 2, there was the Heysel disaster which led to English clubs being banned from participating in European club and International football.
