great pub when I went in 30 odd years ago

The Corner Pin was the first pub I bought a pint in back in 1974.

The corner pin now belongs to the firm behind and was sand blasted and refurbished

for offices last year.

I had many a late night in this pub and the Carwood on the opposite corner , sometimes until 3 am , when we were on the nightshift and the mill had broken down at Firth Browns , a regular occurence fortunately , for us and the landlord .
