Turmeric - where to buy raw ?

Hello , wonder if anyone knows where I could buy turmeric root ? Not the powder from supermarkets , I think it looks a bit like ginger ? Thanks

i would try some of the chinese or asian supermarkets/shops

if you do get some whole root and plant it and it grows then i understand the flower is very pretty

Yes I got some from there a good few months ago,it's worth tracking down as it is totally different from the powder.

They stock it in the Tai Sun Oriental shop on Matilda Street - saw it yesterday.
