Hi megalithic,
My advice to you is copy your dongle's driver files into any user's documents folder within windows, download Vector Linux Live 5.9 CD (this will never be installable) when you click on the network configuration select wireless and it might just run straight away (did on my youngest's pc with Netgear wg111t dongle) if not you should be able to access the document folder you put the driver files in - you will only ever require the .inf file to run it. What I like about vector linux is that you have the choice of browser to use - Konqueror, Firefox or Opera.
