The Sheffield Podcast Directory

The new website I've been working on www.sheffieldpodcasts.co.uk is now live. It's a place to discover the growing amount of podcasts and podcasters creating content in the city of Sheffield.

Up until now, it was hard to know what was out there and what our city was up to. Hopefully this website can make it a lot easier to discover all the local podcasts you can subscribe to.

It’s main goal is to easily display all the podcasts on the front page and to offer subscription links and access to all social networks for each individual show. It's also where you can find information about our monthly meetup group; designed to help new and existing podcasters, network and share ideas.

So if you're interested in podcasting, please tell others about the website and what they can discover in the city of Sheffield!

From a local viewpoint, have a listen to Talk Sheffield from Ahmed Jama, Taha Saleh and Yahja Hassan. Demonstrates what you can do when you have a passion to tell hidden stories about the city you live in. Their recent podcast is all about homelessness in Sheffield.

Not as locally focused, but still made in Sheffield, I've been listening to Hack Circus by Leila Johnson. It's an interview show about the art and craft of creativity. Her latest interview with 'Mary Turner Thomson'; who was recently on stage with Jon Ronson at the Crucible as part of his 'Psychopath Night' tour, is excellent.

That's the great thing about podcasting. If you dig enough, you'll find content you love, no matter what you're into to.

This is a great idea, never knew Sheffield had so many podcasters

The directory is still going strong (with over 40 Sheffield podcasters)

We also meet up once a month at DINA-Venue; to discuss the podcasts we're making and like listening to. The night is open to podcasters, people who want to start podcasting, or people who just like to listen!
