Help with resoloution

How do i tell it to do that?

You will have to find the correct driver first (or one that works properly, some google research may be required)

once you have that...

Right click the monitor in "Devices and Printers". Click "Properties", click the "Hardware" tab. Click "Properties", click "Change settings", click the "Driver" tab, click "Update driver". Click "browse my computer".

You can search or "let me pick" as long as you know where you downloaded the driver file to, and it's extracted (if zip or rar)

Will there be a driver though seeing as it is a HD tv and not a pc monitor?

I am running catalyst. Theres no way to set a custom resolution. Just a drop down list of available resolutions.

Theres just about every resolution you can think of appart from the one i want.

There's a post from March 31st on this thread which may help:

I've only got Nvidia hardware on my various PCs so can't check myself.

just an update. I found a 3rd party software that has allowed me to create and write a custom resolution. the programme is called PowerStrip.

I now have my resolution set to 1680x1050.

the resolution is perfect now like on my old monitor.

I have a VGA to HDMI converter coming so now with the right resolution I am hoping I will get an even more crisp picture with that.
