What he says ^^^^^^

How old is the MBP, if it has Applecare then the charger might be covered for a new one.

Always worth a chat with the Apple store guys, you never know.

I do not think the charger would ever be covered by warranty. I spoke to Apple about this before.

Applecare does cover the charger - http://www.apple.com/support/products/mac.html

What’s covered — Mac

Your Mac computer

Included accessories such as the power adapter

Apple memory (RAM)

AirPort2

Apple USB SuperDrive

Apple display purchased with your Mac

Either way, OP advised that their's is out of warranty.

Best bet is to speak to Apple.

Yeah that's AppleCare - which costs extra - the standard warranty doesn't cover chargers..

The one year limited warranty that you get as standard does cover chargers, I have had one replaced under the one year warranty before.

Some manufacturers don't cover it though as its classed as a consumable
