Right. I check this forum at least 5 times a day now, every day. I'm looking to form an absolutely **** hot, tight, energetic and incredible classic rock and blues cover band.
I'm talking AC/DC, Zeppelin, GNR, Free, Cream, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Ozzy/Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, Dire Straits, The Stones, Def Leppard, The Who, Foo Fighters, Journey, Foreigner, and so so so many others.
I really feel that there's room for a band that will put everything into a gig. That has a real passion for listening to and recreating some incredible music. One that the vast majority of people will leave (usually drunk) singing our praises, vowing to tell everyone they know about us and come to the next gig. One that doesn't have an airtight setlist with no room for requests or changes that night. Just a real kick arse, genuine, in your face, loud rock band!
I'm a lead guitarist. I'm only 19, but please don't let that put you off at all. I've played with 60 year olds who have more energy than an 18 year old - age means nothing to me! I've gigged with people 3 times my age for 18 months now, and I (think) I know my stuff (or enough to get out there on my own with a new band!).
I'm looking for a singer who can belt songs out because they just love it. Can interact with the audience. Tell a few jokes. Have a laugh!!! (Bonus if you can play rhythm guitar, definitely not essential!)
A really solid drummer who can make your f**king ears bleed doing what they do on that kit.
And a great bassist who keeps the whole band together. (too many people underappreciate a great bassist!)
There HAS to be at least one person per position out there to fit this bill! I have very giggable gear (finally gonna have enough money for a Gibson LP by the end of this summer!), and I'm unbelievably passionate and enthusiastic about this. I'm at Sheffield Uni studying Astrophysics, but this is what I love doing.
Have a look at my YouTube channel and there are a few videos from fairly recent gigs back home in Newcastle: www.youtube.com/user/Oneill9293 (I'm the guitarist on the LHS of the screen)
I'm gonna bump this for as long as it takes! Unfortunately I'm going back home until September for summer in 2 weeks, but I'm hoping to get people together by that time (it might take that long!).
If you know anyone after a guitarist then please do let me know or forward them this thread.
I really hope to hear from some people! Just reply on here, PM, message on my YouTube or email me at oneill9293@hotmail.com.
Cheers!
Alex.

This is an old post from me. Let me know what you think.
I'm Chris, 27 and have been drumming for about 4 years.
Not brilliant but not bad either.
Looking for like minded people to form a band to play some covers and maybe originals later on. Was part of a band that is no longer together. I have my own kit and transport.
I have played stuff from Blink 182, Paramore, Fall out boy, Guns n roses, Avril Lavigne, Foo Fighters etc.

Hi mate, seems like you're into a lot of pop-punk. I actually used to love Blink so it might be possible to throw a couple of songs in there, but it would be way more classic rock than anything punky...
If you're still interested do you have any clips of your playing? PM me the link if so!
Alex

Well, you did sound funny. When did I say that I was wanting to start anything new? Just because other bands are about doesn't mean that no others should form? What a ridiculous thing to say. I'd have thought that people would've also wanted the next generation to still play the old stuff too.

If you'd be so kind as to list some of these bands you described as plentiful, I'd be most grateful.

I meant **** hot as in, a really tight, GOOD energetic classic rock cover band. Nothing really new or breakthrough or anything.
I was just looking for some classic or hard rock bands.
Still looking for a drummer and bassist!

Hope you find what you're looking for man, be in touch when you get something sorted and we can maybe get a gig sorted together

Thanks very much Johnny, hope everything in Outlaw's Will is going great! I'll have to come a gig soon.
Just a mini update, I'm finally back in Sheffield as of tomorrow and I'm still really eager to get something together. I might be lucky enough to have found a drummer - any bassists or vocalists out there?
A more recent video of my playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ-En...feature=relmfu
Cheers!

Ah brilliant!! I actually got this when I was on my way to a practice with a singer and a drummer which went REALLY well and a bassist would be perfect.
Drop me an email on oneill9293@hotmail.com since you wouldn't be able to reply to a PM!
Cheers,
Alex.
