flatbat 10 #1 Posted April 24, 2017 Hi - I hope I'm following the guidelines by posting in this section. Please let me know if I'm not. I am a Sheffield-based researcher employed by University College London to work on an investigation into dementia. Our project, funded by the Alzheimer’s Society, is looking at how language changes with dementia. Part of this project involves establishing profiles for adults who do not suffer from dementia as a comparison. Additionally, it is important that our research takes into account regional variations in English language use. As such, I am looking for adult volunteers willing to help with our research. I am looking for volunteers: Aged 50+ Born and raised (or raised from early childhood) in the South Yorkshire / Derbyshire area. With no history of brain injury or speech and language difficulties, and no formal diagnosis of dementia. Volunteering will involve giving up approximately one hour of your time, at a location convenient to you. I will record around 10 minutes of your conversational speech, and I will conduct some tests looking at listening, speaking and reasoning - nothing too taxing! The study has full ethical approval from UCL. If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information, please contact me at [email protected] or PM me on here. Many thanks Andy
 Share this content via...
