stillf   11 #1 Posted April 14, 2017 (edited) We have had letters through stating that Morley Street will be closed to all traffic from 07:00 to 19:00 for Tuesday 18th April for four days for road resurfacing.  Amey have been round and made a dogs dinner of the pavements this week and, according to them, they are planning to come back next week for the road. That's when the fun will begin.
 Share this content via...

That's when the fun will begin.  If there are not fit flag stones they will be removed and the pavement will be tarmaced At least that is what happened on Dykes Lane. bullerboY Â Â 10 #5 Posted April 15, 2017 they are removing these york stone flagstones only for them to disappear into the pockets of god knows who because they are now more valuable than cheap tarmac which is an easier way of laying a new pavement and requires for less skill than Amey possess. sheffandy   33 #8 Posted April 15, 2017 The problem is, quite a few residents want them removed, Amey want them removed. Unfortunately the Council don't, and have instructed Amey to lift and refurbish the flag stones. God knows why, but basically this stretch of street will still end up with a pavement over 100 years old.
 Share this content via...

Also they are not strong enough to be parked on.
 Share this content via...
