Reports on social media but nothing much on news

Cause not known as yet but some speculation that explosions caused by gas

Balloon bursting.

Problem exacerbated by people fleeing following noise caused by explosion

I cant believe the amount of people posting fake photos on Twitter. Most of the people at that gig will be kids/teenagers, parents etc will be worried enough already without these sick idiots adding to it.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that theres a number of fatalities.

I was praying it was just a speaker blowing as earlier reports claimed.

Doubt. Its fake reports now coming of many casualties and fatalaties

I have no idea who Ariana Grande is, but they were just kids having a fun night out. In happier times we would now be thinking this was a horrible accident.

Its being treated as a 'possible terrorist incident' by the Counter Terrorism Unit.

Still too early to confirm though.

Police have just carried out a controlled explosion after finding another suspect device nearby.

2nd package wasn't a bomb according to the police.

Before the gigs security is really strict, but towards the end the doors are opened for people to leave. When these doors are opened theres nothing to stop people coming in. This explosion apparently happened in the foyer, as people were leaving and the doors were open.

it was miles more dangerous in the 1970s and the 1980s than it is now, with the terrorism. The IRA, Red Brigade, etc apparently used to cause explosions in crowded arenas all the time - much more often than the terrorists these days do. These days, as some people here on this forum are quick to argue all the time, it's much safer with the terrorism now than it used to be, and it hardly ever happens.
