DnAuK   10 #8 Posted May 24, 2017 Earliest opening will be the Jolly Farmer at 10am where the kitchen will be open to serve breakfasts Three Tuns is opening at 11am and they will have beer from Tiny Rebel, Siren, Hanlons, Southwark, Salopian and Drone Valley.  Dronfield Arms will also be open from 11am and have a list of about 50 beers across cask and keg spread across two outside bars and the pub bar.  Green Dragon is advertising as open from 11:30am, I believe the Manor House and Blue Stoops should also be open at that time.  I think all the others are a midday start.  Cheers Andy. 11:30 matches up nicely with the train in at 11:15 which allows for a decent start so that makes sense. Much appreciated.
 Share this content via...

DnAuK   10 #12 Posted May 24, 2017 Well the other option would be walk from station to Three Tuns, Dronfield Arms and Pioneer Club then join a bus. Would recommend getting to the Miners at Hundall on one of the first coaches up there before it gets really busy.  I know. That was plan B as I knew the Dronny Arms was open early. Last year went from there to the 3 Tuns and then caught a bus up to The Miners, which was great. However, this year it appears buses to the Miners will not call anywhere in the centre other than the station (for reasons I can see) so that isn't an option. I'm still working on finalising a route. Have friends travelling up to do the festival and SpiderPete will probably tag along. And I've seen his wrath before when someone leads him off-route, so I have to be careful!
