Woman screaming in early hours (Frecheville/Birley)

This morning around 2am I woke up to screaming. It wasn't close by (like a couple of doors away) it was quite a lot further than that, maybe outside.

Anyway, I heard a woman scream - it wasn't just a scream where you are startled it was a terrified scream. Almost like a childbirth scream.

Then she screamed the word noooooooo! A couple of times and that was it. I didn't hear it again.

I am genuinely concerned as if this wasn't somebody giving birth then I fear something bad has happened.

I kept looking out the window for a while but saw and heard no sirens.

Just wondered if anybody else heard it or can shed some light on it

You rang the cops I hope?

What did the police say?

They just lodged it as an incident but because I couldn't pinpoint where the sound was coming from can't do anymore.

Hopefully someone closer to it has or will report it

Well i hope it was just drunken fooling around.

Nice on for ringing it in, its a pity the police couldnt do more.

Smash every door in the street in to try and figure out who it was??

Think you did right to report it in. Doubt they could act on it with just your evidence, but if several people had rung it it, then it would have given them more of a heads up. All too easy to just ignore such things and rely on other people doing the correct thing, so good on you.

Or, as has already been suggested, a woman giving birth at home. It really hurts you know !

Exactly and even if they couldnt its always worth reporting things. The more information they get the better. Its being a responsible citizen.
