The Legend of Nic and Joe - Radio Sitcom

Hi Everybody,

I thought some of you might be interested in listening to our six part radio sitcom, 'The Legend of Nic and Joe'. Recorded in various locations across Sheffield (including the Lantern and Montgomery Theater). It tells the tale of two struggling sitcom writers with a deadline to meet but a severe case of writer’s block. This is hardly surprising though, as most of their time is spent becoming embroiled in a series of hair-brained schemes, meeting a plethora of colorful characters (who may or may not be a certain wizard called Merlin) and indulging in a spot of casual violence.

It’s wacky, it’s fun, it’s crazy, it’s outrageous. It’s about 30 minutes too long…

Written and Created by Nic Bowden and Joe Lister Streep. Featuring the voices of Chelsea Abbott, Simon Atherton, Jo Beadle, Anton Belton, Retched Chimp, Lizzie Bowden, Sarah Blanchfield, Will Gascoigne, Ben Jones, Mark Kenny, Jeremy Knowles, Kirsty McDonald, Robert Myles, Iain Orkisz, Matt Risby, Darryll Robson, Emma Woolley, Jonathan Syer and Peter Beeston.

Who are these 'Cornucopia Radio' folks then?

A open group of award winning writers & creative performers in Sheffield & across South Yorkshire who make audio drama & comedy; which is then broadcast on community stations across the world, as well as podcasted across every corner of the internet.

So, back in 2013/14 we created the epic 6-part fantasy comedy serial “The Legend of Nic and Joe” starring ‘Nic Bowden’ and ‘Joe Lister-Streep’, and although it might have looked like the tale was over, we promised there was still one more story to tell; but it would only be told at Christmas. You see, Nic and Joe are dead, and Merlin the storyteller must try to rescue their legend from the mists of time and soon, they come face to face with a new friend - in the vague snow-based shape of Dave Benson Phillips.

Written and performed by Nic Bowden & Joe Lister Streep. The show also stars Simon Atherton, Emma Smyth, Matt Risby and Jo Beadle. It also features special guest stars; Jessica-Jane Stafford (The Real Hustle, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here) and 90's children's presenter Dave Benson Phillips (CBBC, Get Your Own Back)
