Goldthorpe - what a dump

Had to go through Goldthorpe today and i was quite shocked just how deprived it looked.

It looks like it hasnt changed since the 1990's/80's and looked very run down/depressed.

It was the land that time forgot even in the 80s! Having said that, have a look at Thurnscoe up the road. Even worse!

But they offer a cracking funeral and cremation service.

Definately Third World, in one of the world's richest countries.

Disgraceful really.

All rich countries have their Goldthorpes!.........but suppose it's Thatchers fault once again.

Dore village ...... now there's a dump. Porches parked just anywhere. Kids with cello cases and armed with books. Mothers talking to their kids and every other word is either 'please' or 'thank you.'

I've never seen anything like it.

Well, we have all sorts of cars parked on the double yellow lines on this side of town. Even the Roma gypsies are going upmarket, driving newish Skodas (which are actually the last generation Audi bin wagons with a cheap-ass badge)
