bertyboop   10 #13 Posted November 10, 2016 What about intake? Houses are pretty cheap around here at the minute.
 Share this content via...

Cyclone   10 #16 Posted November 12, 2016 Hi there, thank you for the reply! We haven't actually thought about looking there, my best friend grew up there and says it's quite a rough area, she comes from a past of drug and alcohol abuse from a young age and moved to Sheffield with her family after one of her best friends were stabbed and died in her arms on their estate whilst at a party. Due to drugs I think. So that always sort of put me off that area completely lol. But that is the only opinion I've had about worksop, I imagine there must be nice areas in there as well, like anywhere really, I just have no idea where lol. I'll have a nosey at Gateford and see what houses are on offer, thanks! Xxxxxx  Worksop has rough bits, and nice bits, like any fairly large town.  Whichever bit you choose though, you get more for your money than you do in Sheffield. There are also all the villages out that way, much like Eckington I think, ex-pit villages, that are now just part of the commuter belt for Sheffield. Anston, Aston, Dinnington, Kiveton, Wales Bar, Killamarsh, Halfway, Mosborough, Eckington, Renishaw, Barlborough, Clowne, and probably as many again that I haven't named.  ---------- Post added 12-11-2016 at 09:11 ----------  You might find this tool useful in working out if an area is 'rough' or not.  http://illustreets.co.uk/explore-england/gateford-rise-worksop/  http://illustreets.co.uk/explore-england/darnall-sheffield/  http://illustreets.co.uk/explore-england/north-anston/  Orange, red, etc, bad, green, good. amazon123 Â Â 17 #17 Posted November 12, 2016 Meersbrook, while lovely, would be out of your price range but I echo what others have sad about Intake (excellent primary school and in catchment for Outwood secondary which has had excellent results over the past few years) and villages like South Anston, Aston and Woodsetts where you would get more for your money. *_ash_*   87 #18 Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) Is your house on Rightmove? So I can have a little peek at it and dream! Xxxxx  I'm sure if you use rightmove you know about it, but maybe not so I'll suggest it anyway, there is a tool to draw a map and look in the mapped area. It's better than the postcode plus 1mile etc. It's a bit less scatty and you can draw around bits that you know/think are rough, or unwanted Edited November 12, 2016 by *_ash_*
 Share this content via...
onlineo   10 #19 Posted November 16, 2016 http://www.rightmove.co.uk/s6p/63035102 £15k over budget but Charnock is nice, you can catch the tram to town or crystal peaks, walk into the countryside 5 mins away with dogs. 2 bed houses on charnock are sometimes in your price range. 3 bed seem to vary from £135k to £180k dependent on finish, and size etc.
 Share this content via...
