bassguitar   10 #1 Posted February 11, 2016 My tenant reports that the hard wired smoke alarm keeps beeping. I've googled this and it says as it's 10 years ols it needs replacing and it's as easy as replacing a battery one. Is this something my tenant might do or do I need an electrician.? I'm not in the area so can't change this myself.
 Share this content via...
bungleboy69   101 #2 Posted February 11, 2016 I wouldn't let my tenant touch it in case they don't do it right and cause you grief. An electrician will charge you £65 ish depending on the model of the alarm.
 Share this content via...

If you can still buy the same model most mains smoke alarms just slide off their base so then you slide the new one on to the old base so no new wiring etc needed
 Share this content via...
