You know how much i like Vaillants. Cracking boilers.

Like you nissan, i still get thrown. You never know what you're going to come across :) .

I suspect the expansion vessel... however, OP has mentioned that its a S.Duval . I'm sorry but those bl**dy french boilers leak from every orrifice and at every opportunity

maybe the release valve has been left in the open position all you need to do is link the pipe that goes out side and look to see if it has a washing machine looking isolating valve on mostly black plastic lever and close it when it is closed the lever shoud be 90* to the valve

I'm finding it really hard to find a fully-accredited Viessmann engineer to service a boiler. Has anyone else had the same problem? Who did you eventually manage to find?

Had to look up what you were on about and found this:

Find a Local Installer

Looks to be a couple of installer in Rotherham; hopefully then would do a service too.

Thank you both.

UglyBob: In fact the link to installers proved to be quite prolific in coming up with a number of contacts. I've e-mailed most and now awaiting replies.

Corgigas: I shall look up 'Mr.Peacock' and see if he is interested.

Regards all,

Ric

If you've never installed or serviced one, i wouldn't recommend taking this on. They are a specialist piece of kit, especially when fitted with the weather comp sensor and room controller.

Op is better off getting Viessmann to do it directly.

Try 'Mr.Peacock' on here, he is a Viessmann specialist

Thanks for recommendation Steve, but as you know i don't get my hands mucky these days, and we haven't installed Viessmann for ages.

Awesome boilers though, especially the vitodens 200. Way too advanced for the uk market. People need educating first, and in 10 years time if we've caught up with the Germans, then there will prob be a market for it here.

Installed about 5 some years ago after completing there training course also serviced a few never actually been out to fix one yet, I think veismann were the first in the uk market to offer 5 year warrantee, I agree with you that they are over complicated for the uk market. Also fitted a few the atag 203c they are pretty much the same in terms of over complicatedness you even have to ring technical to set them up as per the instruction ! I also seem to recall veismann originally having a supply issue with parts i would think that is sorted by now though !!
