hi doodledoll,i drove past your farm today on my way to find the view point on fulwood lane.i noticed you are in the camping and caravan club of which i am a member.the farm is closer to redmires than i thought and looks ideal for me and my family to stay on.is there any progress on the ehu situation as i have a few weekends free coming up and would like to catch some migrating birds at redmires
also noticed the sportsman pub now seems very popular,do you know what their meals are like and do they serve real ales as this would also help in me deciding to visit

have just googled your place and it looks to be in a great location to visit both Redmires and Rivelin Dams. The wyming Brook nature reserve looks fantastic too for walking our doggy, so we would be very interested in staying a couple of nights in our camper when you have got the EHU sorted.

What was the outcome monzaman?
Did you visit? Is the electric sorted?
I see the website still says six electric points available.
It's time I paid a visit up north again.

Get 2 decent habitation batteries fitted and a solar panel say to 100watts, and you wont need to rely on hook up points at all, even in this weather.!

Probably as long as the gas holds out, ehu has its bonus i know, but if ya want to go anywhere and not worry, solar and good batteries are the way forward.
I have diesel heater in our m/home (webasto), so i just have to make sure i have enough fuel in to keep warm, and it don't use a lot when running. But as it is fan driven, then thats where the solar and good batteries come in handy, and i can keep warm any where.!

Yes I know what you mean, I can make my leisure battery last over 2 wks in the summer without EHU.
But in the winter I think it’s well worth the extra couple a quid a night for EHU so as we can have unlimited use of electric heaters, microwave oven, griddle, toaster, kettle, running hot/cold water, lighting, tv and for myself the computer.
It would probably cost us more in gas to run the equivalent appliances but having said all that I see a lot of sites are going over to meters or tokens now for the EHU.

Hi Allen,no i didn't visit (work, family etc) but i still hope to soon.I have drove past a few times and it never seems busy but it may be because i tend to drive past late sunday afternoon when all campers have left.I will try to get in contact and see if the ehu's are sorted and then post on here
