Don't think Scoobz ever had the pleasure of meeting Kentboy. Can't say for sure how old he was but he just could have fallen into the late teen category

On a similar thread. Would anyone be interested in backpacking around the Greek Islands either this year or next?

This is a quote from the first post of this thread- started by TAXMAN - IN JUNE 2006! He has been the trigger to many people being friends, walkers, and partners all over the place...

I'm now testing the water to see if anyone would be interested in a Walking Group. I would envisage people posting suggestions for routes, walks they had done in the past, new routes they fancied etc. We are talking Walking here, not route marching or fell running. I'd see it a chance to get out into the countryside, meet other forummers and be able to chat in a relaxed atmosphere.

I'd see it as an inclusive group, singles, couples, families, well behaved dogs welcome - but this may be discussed here.

Travel arrangements would also need to be ironed out as some people may be reliant on public transport / getting lifts or car sharing.

Dip your toes into the pool and create your first walk and take it from there. If you advertise, they will come

Are you just quoting Taxman, or are you wanting to start a walking group?

Blimey, 6 years since the walking group was born.

And haven't there been adventures a plenty since then eh?

As well as adventures, there have been marriages, long-term relationships, babies born, deaths too. Sounds more like Coronation Street than a walking group!

Reading the last post back...............perhaps I ought to explain that there haven't been any walk-related deaths!

Still looking for someone interested in backpacking for a couple of weeks next year around the Greek Islands. Don't know if that comes under this heading or not, but thought it worth a try.

You might be better off starting a seperate thread so anyone casually looking at the section can tell from your title what you're trying to do.
