Sheffield also has a tradition of naming things after sports stars, for example Derek Dooley Way,(Sue) Barkers Pool,(Tony) Curry Canteen and of course the Coe-Op.

On the right hand side of this page are the medals that GB have won in their entire Olympic history. 1908 would be a bit of a challenge to beat.

Jumped up, arrogant little toerags. Why can't they go and find some traffic to play with or something. Glad they sorted it out quick anyway.

I read (somewhere on the BBC website) that all Team GB Gold Medal winners get a stamp printed.
They deserve it too, IMO.

My little girl is coming up 4 and loves Jessica Ennis.
On sunday we took her to the "Sheffield by the Sea" in Peace Gardens where she had her face painted as a "rainbow tiger", pink and blue with black stripes.
On the way home she insisted on having her photo taken next to the post box, she hugged the post box and we have a lovely picture but.................
the pink and black on this photo is her face paint, we never looked afterwards and had no idea it had come off on the post box.........
Yours, embarassed.

Amazing to think that her 100m hurdles time would have given her 4th place in the final. I think she could have got a medal if she'd decided to compete, but perhaps she thought that finishing with a bronze would have tarnished her gold.
