which flowers are best to plant now?. I have some topsoil/compost in my front garden, and want to plant some lovely colourful/scentful flowers. I would love some advice please. many thanks in advance.

Perhsaps they aren't sure what you are asking, I wasn't. Are you expecting to plant something in flower now or that will flower next July? You have said nothing about how open or sheltered your garden is, if you are high up or down in a frost pocket, if its shade or sun, north or south facing, clay or well drained soil, how much space have you got.....etc, etc

If you give us a clue we may be able to help.
