Hey everyone, , new to THIS group, looking at getting a small caravan sometime this year, just a 2 or 4 birth for me, the missus and our little girl, so fed up now of camping
So I am doing some research on sites in either Skeg/Winthorpe (Ingoldmells side), Ingoldmells itself or perhaps a little further out, maybe Chapel, but not so far as Mablethorpe that offer seasonal sitings for tourers,
(We would take the caravan down at the start of the season, leave it on site and take it off at the end of the season).
Used my old friend Google and emailed around half a dozen or so potential sites, and was wondering if there is anyone in the Group who also does this, or knows of anyone and the sites they use.
If so could they pm me a price for the season, must have electric hook-up, and I know some places actually charge for the electric used, and some dont.
The site we use now for camping (Skegness Water Leisure Park in Ingoldmells) charge £1250.00 for the season, does anyone know of any cheaper?
Drop me a PM, or post on here, and I'll check back every other day to see any responses/reply.
Thank you everyone

We dont really go to Skeg much so I cannot help with a site recommendation but I will say that £1250 is really quite a good price and I would be surprised if you found one cheaper! Enjoy!!

Eastfield pleasure at Chapel Point, not to be confused with Eastfield at Trunch Ln,is a very good site .The beach at chapel point is approx yards away from the site. The site has hard standings for all tourers and is well kept but I think you will be struggling to get anything decent for less than £1250.

well, found another one behind the church (bottom of anchor lane, near the Ship Inn, Ingoldmells, down the bottom end) £900, but you have to pay for any electric used. 15p per unit, I think they said (or that might have been the charges for another site!)
still looking, (we have to get a 'van first though!!)

That's the only thing I don't like about that site, all the extras on top of the standard price. Why another 170 for an awning when it takes up no more room on the pitch! And most seasonal touring caravans are over 22" so there's another £50. Don't forget 30p per shower.

Spoils what is otherwise a lovely site

Thanks everyone, but we've opted for Skegness Water Leisure Park, Walls Lane (opposite Butlins), we always stayed there whilst we were camping, and enjoy the site and its facilities and the staff are great too (except the duo in the on-site shop, who I always find to be a tad miserable!)
So were going there, hopefully if they'll have us that is!!

All sorted, now being sited at Skegness Water Leisure Park,at the start of next season its £1200 with electrical hook-up for the season, we can choose where we wanna be pitched, and its only an extra £100 for winter storage, save me towing the 'van back at the end of the season!!
All we need now is a 'van!!

Water leisure park has good facilities, nice free showers and a good pub on site too.

£1250 is a good price, if it includes electric, even better. I pay £1595 pa not including electric at Skipsea, its a 12 month site though so that may make a difference. Do they allow Hobby vans on the Skegness sites?

We have our caravan at Torksey which is £60 per month for summer 6 months including 4 free nights - £10 per night on top of that which includes awning and electric. We pay £27.50 per month for winter storage. It costs an extra £120 when we go down for two weeks so I make that in total if we go down every other weekend in summer a total of £645 per year

Nope, not happening now at SWLP, I phoned them to confirm, they asked for make/model/year of van, (this info was NEVER asked for in the previous 3 or 4 coversations I'd had with them) told them it was an Alpine Sprite SV, mid-80's model, had been fully refurbed in and out, sent them a few pics, they said it was too OLD for the site and wouldn't look good, being permanently sited, but as I hadn't been given this info before I booked my plot, as a goodwill gesture, they would allow it on out of sight, just for the 1 season.
I was furious, so I told them I wouldn't be bothering, I saved myself £1400 and bought a bigger (1.9 DCi '03 Megane Scenic) and had a towbar fitted to it, so I could go whenever and wherever I wanted.
Their loss now.
Never been back since.
