We did it a few years ago when we had a tourer .i remember we were parked among the lorries didnt get much sleep because of them coming and going all night...Ithought most of the services allowed you to park up overnight but i could be wrong.
we usually stay over at exeter service station.
we set off at around 11pm at night.
after looking at there website i recon thats the one, thanks 'simple as' how long do u normally rest up there before continuing? really dont want to hit the rush hour traffic
traffic lol i know what you mean!! its the bodmin bypass thats a killer! when are you going?
august, it was the bodmin bypass that got us last time and we vowed we wouldnt do the journey again but then had such a lovely time down there we changed our minds
well considering the bypass we usually set off as soon as we can. 6am is ideal for us but can catch traffic still but not as much as the usual 15+ miles bumper to bumper
hope this helps
have a great holiday
I usually stop in Michaelwood service station
It`s full of caravans and motorhomes doing the same thing
Remember to pay for an over night ticket from shop or you will be clamped
You get the cost off a breakfast in the morning

thanks caged90 will look into it, hope its a stress free journey
We've stopped at Taunton for a rest before, but if you're a light sleeper, it's no good. I much prefer driving down during the night, as others have said, the last stretch is a nightmare in the daytime. We've stopped at Jamaica Inn before overnight on the way down. It was a few years ago, but we loved it, and the food was top notch then, and the rooms. Well worth the average price -don't know if it's the same now.
