Hi

It is my daughter's birthday in two weeks and I'm looking at getting her a cake.

it's very difficult to buy one in the supermarket as she is allergic to nuts and they nearly all say 'may contain traces of nuts'.

Bakeries such as cooplands are also difficult to buy from.

Really need someone willing to make one from home who will be careful with every ingredient.

Anyone you can recommend please?

She lost me at "electric beater".
How anyone can use one of those things for something as delicate as a victoria sponge is worse than Myra Hindly in my book.

Those were the days!

Drill a hole in the side and stick a needle up against the disc!

Bloody smart meters put an end to that one.

I can bake and make nice sponges but can't decorate or do characters. Think she'd like something different to mummy's cake this year but if I don't get any joy I'll be making it myself.

She's like anything pink and sparkly and girly she's a very girly girl lol.

Nut and dairy free if possible. I would use vitalite if I was making it myself.

A lady who works with me does the most amazing cakes and would be able to do one that suits your needs. Look for her website - the Gateaux chateaux or PM forum member Fabcakes

hi , we had a lady make our wedding cake from high green, she was really nice and her cake decorating skills were amazing and she was a lot cheaper than most.she made us a cup cake wedding cake with a sponge at the top with the figurines on the top that were modelled on us, she even matched the wife's wedding dress and they looked just like us,
all our family and friends use her now.
my wife has her number in her phone so if you would like her number pm me and ill get it off her later when she comes home.

if you like i could email you pics of our wedding cake so you can get an idea of her style, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed

Have you tried Andrews Tea shop on Chapel Walk? I have my baby shower cake and my sones 1st birthday cake made there and they were brilliant. I'm sure if you talk to them about your requirements they would be able to help.
