Poppycock, Heath Ledger outclassed Nicholson's joker in every respect.

If you like thought provoking films i can recommend it,and there are funny bits in it too, especially a scene with Kathy Bates.

Although not strictly a "Jack Nicholson film", one of my favourites is Easy Rider. Nicholson only has a small role in it.

I think he inspired much of Slater's on-screen personas. Remember Happy Harry Hardon in "Pump up the volume?"

I agree
I think he"s a mediocre actor that gets by on creepy looks and an attitude.

just plays himself in most films

Yes it doesn't surprise me you liked Easy Rider. Bikers, hippies, nice scenery and all that grass.
Nice music though.

Dear god, NO.

The first, indeed the ONLY time I've seen Jack Nicholson in a film, he was the Joker in Batman.

I was woefully unimpressed

He was maniacally brilliant in The Shining, gorgeously sexy and intense in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and very vulnerable in As Good as it Gets....he's definitely not a one trick pony!

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Carnal Knowledge would be my favourites. I thought he was terribly mis-cast as The Joker.

[edit] Forgot about The Shining.

Different Jokers for different times in different Batmans.

Cesar Romero's Joker was perfect for that Batman in the 60's but would have been ludicrous in the others and the same applies for the other two there isn't just one type of Batman or Joker in the comics and there shouldn't be in the films or on tv either
