I am on a sports-theme-polls-day.....
Snooker is next, who is your favs players and why, this was hard one, as I had 12 names to choose from and can only pick 10, I have gone on the No1 world rankings and who has won the most, and who is a crowd puller.
The 2 who did not make is are Fred Davis and Eddie Charlton.
Mine are : Steve Davis we may have hated him in the 80`s but to be still playing at his age is amazing, and also Jimmy WHite the best player never to win the world championship.
You can pick more than one

Ive voted for Ronnie here, because not only is he brilliant, he is also an entertainer, in what can sometimes be a pretty boring game.
My personal fave though is Junhi (?sp)

Yes Ronnie is a brilliant player, and always good to watch, in many ways he is like Jimmy White, both brill and fast.

ronnie o sullivan is the most gifted and has every shot in the book... its just his temprement that makes him not be the winner of every tournament.. so i voted for him.
if he had steve davis's brain.. he would be unstoppable.

Its gotta be Steve Davis - 6 times world Champion - whats more impressive IMO is the fact (AFAIK) he hasnt dropped out of the top 16.
The dude is nearly 50 and still one of the best in the game.
Ronnie is too far up his own arse imo, altho an amzing player he just not got the consistency.
Will Hendry or O'Sullivan still be at the top in 20 years - I doubt it...... Davis will be wheeled out well into his mid 80's

Got to be Hendry for me.
Hendry's record is better than every modern day player (post 1970's - cant find records beyond that).
Hendry holds the record for the most World Championship titles, the most professional centuries and the most televised maximums.
I'm not sure he's ever been out of the top 10 Official Ranking (Davis dropped into the 20's a couple of years ago).
Any co-incidence that Davis' last World Championship win was the year before Hendry won his first?
Credit to Davis, 28 years after turning pro it looks like he's still capable of winning Ranking events. But then, 21 years after turning pro, Hendry is still winning Ranking events (and finished last season 3rd in the overall Ranking.
Mat - not sure what makes you think Hendry isn't capable of longevity? He's already proved it.
My favourite snooker player - O'Sullivan every time for the entertainment and skill. Closely followed by Jimmy.

I wonder what happened to Kirk Stevens, he didnt last long.
Bill Werbinuk was another one I liked (cannot spell his surname) and John Virgo he did a brill Ray Reardon impression.

It's got to be steve davis for me,like somebody said earlier steve's been round for the best part of thirty years & he should've been world champion on at least 10 times,he's been in over 100 major finals & by the time hendry came on the scene steve was coming upto his prime.
