I am just taking up a nannying position for a child aged just 4, was just wondering if we could come along, are there any other 3 or 4 year olds for him to play with, and would you mind that i'm not his parent, i am a mum but mine have all grown and almost flown. Hi Amanda!
We welcome parents and carers to bring children to the group. There are a range of children that attend the group ranging from babies up to 5 years old.
There are a few regular children that are 4-5 years old, so certainly bring him along!
We are situated in the Lower Hall of the Methodist Mission on Chapel Walk (opposite superdrug). If you go in that entrance and walk straight ahead there is a lift to get down to the lower floor.
We open Mon, Weds and Fri from 1-3pm. It's £1.50 a session for non members and £1 a session for members (This will be explained when you complete a registration form).
We also provide tea, coffee and juice for a small fee.
There are no strict rules or contracts that tie you to attend regularly, so just come when you want to. We are also open during school holidays and if at any point we are closed (ie, hall being used for other reasons) then we will put a post on this thread or on our facebook group (which, if you are on facebook, can be found by searching for: Jellytots parent and baby/ toddler group).

what is the group about? is it a toddler, baby and mother group?

We call it a drop in centre because we run various days and we don't necessarily follow the same pattern as most groups.
Ultimately we run 3 sessions a week for parents to make best use of, some come to chat with other mums, some to get a break when shopping in town, some to meet with their friends, some just to give the kids a change.

We encourage people to bring their lunch, invite others and to chat or play as they choose, we don't have a formula, only that people are responsible for their own children as we don't have staff to supervise, we have volunteers who run the sessions.

You'd be very welcome to join us

Jellytots is still open during the school holidays! Pop along to let your little one burn off some steam while you sit and have a chat and a cuppa!
We will also be having fun with a parachute tomorrow so bring your little ones for a few fun games. We have a lovely summer time volunteer who will be adding a bit of extra fun most sessions during the hols

Open Mon/Weds/Fri 1-3pm. (Closed 29th August for Bank Holiday Monday)

Just to let you all know, due to the sad loss of Anne Sears (Victoria Hall's Secratary), Victoria Hall will be closed for her funeral on Monday 22nd August.
Therefore there will be no Jellytots that day.

can you tell me what happened to Anne I did not know she had been ill ?

I'm less knowledgeable about it but I believe she suffered a sudden aneurysm, she was put into a medical coma and was unable to recover. Later she passed away.
It's been a huge shock and I can see that the staff at the Victoria Hall are hugely upset.

Thanks Zebra , Anne was my best friend at school and there were an awful lot of shallow people who treated her badly .
Anne was a lovely loyal girl we lost contact after school but I hope she found some happiness .

Hi all!
Just wanted to inform members old and new that due to lack of funding, Jellytots will now only be open on Fridays. We apologise to anyone that was planning on coming on Monday's and Wednesday's but we were asked to pick one day to open and chose Friday as it's our busiest day.
Apologies once again.

Hello all, I'm sorry to say that after six years Jellytots finally will have to close on 17th August 2012. I feel I can speak for all the ladies who currently deliver the group and on my own behalf, that we are glad to have been able to have the group for so long, however, sadly, we are no longer able to gain the levels of funding we need.
I've been especially grateful for all the friendships and opportunities that I've had through running the group. I've met some of the most amazing people and learned so much because of Jellytots and even through hard times I don't have any regret for the work undertaken. I know the ladies who have been running the group since I returned to full time work have really made it their baby and put a collosal amount of energy and effort into keeping it running, so other parents could share everything we had in the first years - for that ladies, I am so grateful and I'm sure there are endless other parents who have had new friends and opportunities because of you.
Thanks to ALL of you who have joined us over the years, all those who have donated, participated and made the group a group.
If you know of any groups who may benefit from some of our equipment we will be donating it all to other similar groups across the city, please send me a message and a contact number or email so I can make arrangements once we've had a good sort out.

hi, i have a 1 year old daughter and at the moment i'm not working i would love to take my daughter to a mum and baby group as ive recently moved here and would like to meet some mums and get me out of the house anywhere close to the s12 s13 area as i know it lol x
