Just seen the Groupon voucher offer £12 for a full day, just wondered how many paint balls you need to buy to cover the full session.

They say 100 per hour. I reckon you'd need £35 extra for paintballs. However, I noticed this deal yesterday when it had 356 bought. They've still got it up today, but it only had 70 bought when I looked. Either way, it's only valid on saturdays and sundays for the next 3 months, so 38 opportunities. Even if there are multiple groups playing each day, some people are probably going to lose their money Book sharpish if you go for it. I decided I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. Besides, a whole day of paintball is gonna be painful!

Think it works out to around £55 for 1000 paintballs. I think its something you wont do every week. Its a bit of a treat. So you'd probably be happy with 4 or 5 hours at it.

Thanks, it was going to be a treat for my sons birthday but if he invites up to the amount 10 it will cost a decent amount, will think of something else.

Don't do it unless you're prepared to get REALLY hurt! I went when I was about 13 and came home with 12 inch bruises all over my body and a permanent back injury from being hit at point-blank range. Fine if you're a 'hard' full grown fella, but I wouldn't recommend it for kids.

Also don't do it if you're vegetarian/vegan as the balls contain gelatine (I kid u not!). I was going to do it until I found this out

It is not advisable to eat the paintballs.
I went and used 300 paintballs in 30 mins, they were £7 for 100.

I went paint balling about 20 years ago, with my now wife. After the 'pummelling' I preceded to shoot all over my wifes car windscreen, then her butt. Great Times

Yes the balls are not cheap, so consider the price when booking... £35 per person is realistic.
I've been 5-6 times and the pain depends on where you get shot. I've seen a knuckle swell to half the size of an egg, but I've also been shot repeatedly at CLOSE range (including one to the back of my skull) and it's not that bad at all, minor bruise here or there, though you are human, things like that repair in a day or two (magic!)
All I will say is think about it before you book, close friends have booked for days with vouchers (this sounds identical to what they try to sell in town from those stalls) and trying to make it work is hard.
I bet the deal includes minimal paint balls so they will make money from you in the long run (I went to one place once where there were 9 games in total... which works out very cheap per game... until you remember you need balls for eveyr game.... so the more games they let you play, the more you spend....)

I took my 13 year old son and 5 of his mates to the new Asylum paintballing on Scotland Street yesterday and they had a fantastic time - it was a brilliant 1st time experience for them all and they talked about it all the way home.
We got a great deal on kgbdeals which included 100 paintballs in with the offer, and at the bloke who runs it's advice, they all bought an extra 200 paintballs each (this averaged 50 balls per game), at a cost of another £14.32 each.
They started at 1.30pm and I picked them up at 4.30pm and they had 6 different games. The manager was really enthusiastic, and even my lad's incessant questions didn't worry him at all. I can't recommend them highly enough.

old thread, but I'd recommend airsoft over paintballing any day. less painful, much cheaper, more realistic and generally a nicer crowd, ie not full of 12 year old chavs running around thinking they're playing COD :p

Airsoft is closer to £10 for 3000 rounds, at most sites (which will last most people all day).
I'm sure you can you see the advantage.
