What Adobe product do you keep getting asked to upgrade? Flash Player? Do you restart your PC after each upgrade? Most software upgrades require a restart for the upgrade to take effect.

Adobe flash player doesn't require a reboot, just the closing and re opening of the browser should be fine.
What browser are you using jamesy?

What version of win 7 are you using 32 or 64bit?
They say the version on d/l is 32 and 64bit compatible but a few weeks ago it wasn't. I had to go to their own website and d/l a beta version for a friends 64bit Win7 Ultimate system
Just a thought

Go to your downloads and put the install activexIcon(adobe flash) onto your desktop and then restart and as soon as you can, click the install activex icon on the desktop and that should install it before your security clicks in.That is what i did, after I had deleted chrome.

Taken from UTubes Site
http://www.google.com/support/youtub...y?answer=56115
Here's how to upgrade to the most recent version of Adobe's Flash Player:
Before installing the most recent version of Adobe Flash player, you will first need to uninstall any older versions of the Flash player that you've installed in the past and have running on your computer at the moment.
Please completely uninstall the version of Flash that you're currently running before upgrading to the most recent version. To uninstall Flash, follow Adobe's instructions, listed here. You'll need to download Adobe's official Uninstaller to remove Flash.
Once you've uninstalled the older version of Flash, you'll be ready to upgrade to the most recent version of Flash.
To upgrade to the most recent version of the Flash player, please follow these steps:
Follow Adobe's instructions for reinstalling the most recent version of Flash.
Once you've downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash, please exit your browser.
Finally, click to install the update that you just downloaded to your computer from the Adobe Flash site.
Once you've done so, open your browser again and go to YouTube. You should now be able to watch videos successfully!
After doing a google it seems as though a lot have had this problem and it is the general cure for it
Some also suggest you turn off AntiVirus while you install it as it could be that which is causing you problems

It wouldn't.
I was going to suggest that you make sure your browser was closed when you do the installation.
