Irvine comes from a long list of former top class Assistant Managers' who have failed when stepping up to become the Manager. We are just prolonging the agony if he stays. We need to give a new man the chance to salvage the season...

No, he'd have entertaining interviews but he'd just waste a load of money like at Middlesbrough don't fancy him.
My choice would be
1. Allardyce (really can't see it though, but you never know)
2. John Sheridan, though can't see him leaving Chesterfield before the end of the season.
3. Chris Hughton
4. Nigel Pearson, but can't see him moving from Hull with their new owners
5. Sean McAuley

He flopped a Middlesborough but was successful elsewhere...If I could have anyone it would be Hoddle...And he could have Waddle as his Assistant....

Yep with Hoddle I think he's being an outcast from football a little since his comments years ago and maybe now is the time for him to come back. maybe would depend if he wants to decrease the amount of time eh spends on his academy in Spain.

How does the side that kept 11 clean sheets and amongst the meanest in L1,suddenly start leaking 4 and 5 goals every other week.
lets hope we hit the magic 50 odd points soon, because we look more likely to be involved in a scrap at the OTHER end of the table on current form.

One poster went over the edge, I told him to edit. To close the subject is OTT IMO. I'm sure said chap would have altered his post. And, I agree it was offensive. Keep it clean lads.
Anyways lads, what do you think Irvine did wrong tonight? A hint, his Plan B is not his Plan B.

He didn't resign. That is all.
When I left Hillsborough last Tuesday night, all the talk on the way out was about the manager, his poor tactics and crazy substitutions. I mean all of the chat.
He's lost the crowd completely and it is simply a matter of time before he goes.
The sixth signing of the Mandaric era will be a manager.

He did the same tonight with the crazy opening 11, he has lost the plot in trying to appease Milan. But, Irvine is too late in the day to change his dour DVD tactics, he cannot change. He IS a good coach, BUT NEVER A MANAGER.
Even the happy clappers are slowly realising this. I like the bloke, I liked Sturrock and Laws. Irvine is completely out of his depth though. Tactics, that don't even bloody work, should be replaced by giving the players BELIEF.
Irvine, you did your best, but the Wednesday have replaced all but you from the cancer at the club. I'm sorry, wish you the best at some club that will no doubt come in for you, but now is the time for the MAJOR clean sweep.
