I was wondering what are the up and coming areas of Sheffield? Where do young proffessionals buy or let and where would a graduate no longer wanting to live in the centre of Studentsville look?
Any areas, roads or postcodes would help, but postcodes seem to cover quite large areas so the more specific the better.
Thanks
PK

I really hope you are not trying to do some free research on what areas to target for your company. That really isn't the purpose of this forum.

To be honest Geoff I'm interested in this guys question.... so drop the 'I'm the boss' act and allow him to at least have his question answered.

However that wasn't his question.
His question was ''What are the up and coming areas of sheffield", therefore it's different to what areas are decent and what areas are not.
Yes it may be 'free research' for this guys company, however I have never seen or noticed this question asked before and I am interested in the results.

Geoff didn't close the thread or remove it, so he is letting him have his question answered!
Please, just let's see what people have to say instead of making everything into an argument.
I'm thinking that any more posts to this thread that aren't answering the question should be deleted!
And to answer the question, here are some links to thread which say "up and coming area":
Intake
North Anston
Rotherham
Pitsmoor, Burngreave and Firthpark
Tinsley and Attercliffe

From DaBouncer
Geoff I thinks it's not very 'professional' of you to immediately assume that someones motives are for pure financial gian just because he happens to promote his business (not the first or last I might add) on 'YOUR' forum.
|
I'm not sure what you are talking about. This user already has his own (free) thread which is dedicated to promoting his business. You can find it here. As with most people, I'm more than happy for him to post a thread about his business and ask people for feedback. But I'm not happy if he is using this (Moving to Sheffield) forum for business research - this forum is meant to be for people who are genuinely interested in moving to Sheffield.
My post above was meant as a general, friendly warning. I will be more than happy to apologise if this PK guy is actually interested in moving to Sheffield...
PK: If you are really interested in moving to Sheffield, then the links Tony provided above should be helpful.

Thankyou Tony for those links.
The reason for my original question is as you have noticed i've recently started working in sheffield and i'm considering moving there.
The cynical amongst you may believe this is research but would it not also make sence for me to want to move to the city i am working in?
I'm a 23 year old graduate from Leeds so was simply wondering where similar ex-students and young proffessionals mostly live in Sheffield. Up and coming areas i would expect to still be relatively afforable but decent growing and improving areas.
Thanks
PK

I reckon that Woodseats is a good choice as an up and coming area. Property prices aren't as high as Ecclesall Road, Crookes. I think the area will start attracting people that are now priced out of Eccy Road etc.

Search on here for threads about Upperthorpe. It's fairly central and is on the tram route plus the prices are likely to start rising soon, imo.

I was interested in the original posters question and thought Geoff was being a little cynical about thinking it was for research purposes. Which as it happens turns out I was right.
All the best!
