I think the amount of managers you sacked and went through before Laws contributed vastly to your demise.
I wrote the names down once, just to remind me, I knew that I had made a mistake, and then realised that I had omitted Paul Jewell, what a bloody list. I still think that Trevor Francis had more in his locker than the hapless Dave Richards thought that he had.
However, we are where we are, both of us infact, not easy is it flower?

We have one real sticky patch since the demise of Robson. Since Robson the Blades have seriously contested for promotion. Now it seems, if you listen to the wendys, we are in the same hole as them. The difference is, that injuries permitting, we are capable of getting out of it. Must be a lonely place that hole, for wendy to be speaking so collectively

Denial isn't a river running through Egypt, Utd are struggling, playing the high and long ball, have one fit keeper and as soon as one player comes back from injury another one gets injured.
They are having bad luck, but they are also playing badly, and as for 'that hole', SUFC are in it with us.
Yes , both clubs are in the botom half of the division, both yea on a downward spiral, of the two United with the return of the many injured players have a chance of turning things around, i for one hope the Barnsley match was where we drew a line in the sand and now return to form, with a reduced injury list and a few positive results the signs are good.
The Owls , have no squad to fall back on, are carrying a few light wieghts Jeffers and co.And with limited funds available and maybe some forced sales in January can anyone see a positive turnaround this season?

Thanks for the geography lesson .... and Don is the river that runs through your ground by the way I have said we are having a tough time at the moment but I still feel we are more able to get out of it than SWFC.

When your injured players come back, what style of football will KB demand of them? I start to wonder if Ken Bates crack aimed at Chris Turner, relating to goal keepers not making good managers, had a ring of truth to it.

My view is the style of football is not an issue at present its a matter of getting the points almost at any cost, as much as we would prefer skillful football we have to be realistic, and over the next 10 weeks need to accumalate the points to push on in the new year. A mid table position at the lane this season is not acceptable.
Wednesday the same, if the downturn continues in to the new year a relegation battle, 15,000 gates and doom and gloom would reign.

Well, we're certainly finding out regarding Blackwell.
But more to the point: What is Andy Leaning, in my view the worst 'keeper ever to grace the goalposts (or in his case, fetch the ball out of the net) doing behind the scenes with Blackwell?
Get rid of him and Blackwell and install Speedo, pronto.

That would mean a good percentage of the 13,200 season ticket holders not turning up, unless you further predict average opposition support of 1,800, and no pay on the day home support.
IMHO we have just about bottomed attendance wise, and what with some big clubs bringing 7000 to Hillsborough, we should end up with well over 20,000 average gates. SUFC have indeed given me both doom and gloom, but fortunately never at the same time.

Maybe i was a little harsh. But you do not address the word relegation !
Battled through that little lot very well Crookesey!
Which Monday is the thread now referring to?
If the referee had done the right thing on Monday and not given the 'Evans penalty' as it wasn't one, then Blackwell may well have gone Tuesday morning. Not McCabe's decision, the fans would have made the decision for him.
Size 9's, 10's, 11's and 12's everywhere.

rumours going round that if we dont get the desired result on monday at barnsley then it might be blackwells last stand.
My question is, if he goes or even gets the sack after monday night, then what experienced, quality managers are there out of work at the moment that would come to utd with our wage limits etc ?
to quote my origional post which was posted previous to the barnsley away game, now i pose this question along the same lines- if we dont beat peterborough, then what ??? Surely we will see a repeat of the car park protest.
Blackwell defended his policy of quality and not quantity when building his team but now he wont be the big man and accept it was wrong, i think he should have got a bit more in both areas, probably 1 or 2 more quality players but also a sprinkling of competent and competetive squad players then we might not be dropping down the table like a lead balloon !!!!!
