Just because they have adult themes such as swearing, sex and violence doesn't change the fact that a cartoon is a medium for children.

The formula's been done to death anyway, I'm sure when whoever wrote South Park said "hey, how about a kids show with swearing on it!" thought he was being really clever, but family guy, american dad and all that are just infantile and derivative.

I think you`ll find he was very clever cos he`s obviously made lots of money out of it!
still if we all liked the same life would be dull wouldn`t it?

Its Family Guy in our house too. One of the funniest thing I have ever seen was the bit where Peter is trying to dispose of the dead frog from Chris's bedroom. Chortle! !!My husband is a big fan of King of the hill too but I find it a bit "gentle"

Or the one on the ship:

Peter: "It is called the poop deck - that is why I pooped there!"

Officer: "You're disgusting..."

Peter: "...And you're misleading!"

There's a variation on that one in the episode "Model Misbehaviour", during the boat race.

Peter: Gee, Mr. Pewterschmidt, you sure could use some fine strapping young men like us on your schooner.

Carter: Are you saying I’m gay?

Peter: What? Are you sure you don’t want more seamen on your poop deck?
