I made an appointment to view a property at lunchtime today and the current tenant did not answer the door. There was another couple wanting view just after me and they could not get in either! They actually saw the person living there open the front living room window so he was obviously in yet he would answer the door. I tried to contact the agent but only got a voice message saying the office was open on Monday!! Luckily I only live 2 mins away but I would have been so annoyed if I had travelled from the other side of town!

I find this all very strange and wondered if it had happened to anyone else and what they did in that situation?

If the person inside was a tenant why should he show people around, because as soon as its sold hes out of a home. If the person inside is the house owner you can see what your dealing with and it looks like grief. Walk away and leave it.Plenty more for sale.

It was a tenant whose contract ends this weekend. Apparently he has found somewhere else to live which is why he is moving. He was the one who agreed to show people tround in the first place so it's complete rudenes to just sit in the house and not answer the door!! If he didn't want to show people round, he should have told the letting agents he wasn't and they would have to do it themselves.
