a visit to citizens advice might be helpful to see if he can get any community care grants to settle back into community after difficulties etc (altho it looks you've done a top job of helping him ).
no idea if he is on top of setting up utilities, getting settled etc but could always ask to be referred for tenancy support to get a support worker to help get income/benefits sorted, home feeling like his own home, on top of bill paying, help to get familiar with area if has moved etc etc

We have two rolls of carpet that was only used for a month it will fit in a normal size room also a bedside table,Just pm me van man what a amazing job you have done for this man.
It makes my heart sing what people will do for each other

Thank you Tony! You've done a fantastic job in helping this man, picking things up from all over etc. I hope he's starting to settle into his new home and he's feeling safe and comfortable.

This might be a silly question, but given what he's been through.. has he got smoke alarms fitted? He may benefit from the fire brigade going round and doing a safety check? Just a thought!

i have been too busy fetching in the stuff to notice, but i am up there later and will defo look, the flat was "DONE OVER BY COUNCIL" (there words)....
so i shoud think they are fitted, but will look,

Do you still need an oven - unfotunately we don't have an electric one, but we have a gas one in our garage, we moved here 2 years ago and have a fitted kitchen now. pm me if its any use.

he says its o k,

but i often get them on our removals, so it will do him till we find a electric 1
