I collect football programmes and I've been trying to thin my collection down, but also start to collect different themes of games.

I'm now looking at 1950's and 60's specifically for both Wednesday and United. Also looking to get any "3rd party" fixtures played at either ground.

For example, I've got England v Scotland schoolboys from 1957, a couple of FA Semi's from the 60's at Hillsborough. I think you get the drift.

If you know of a game or indeed have the programmes to sell, let me know.

I know Arsenal played Rotherham at Hillsborough in an F A Cup replay, and that Scunthorpe played Stoke in a League Cup replay. Don't have much info on games at Bramhall lane.

I'm also looking for reserves/friendlies/euro games from that period.

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Jim

Apparently the Blades played Bury in an F A Cup replay @Hillsborough in the sixties.

Anyone got any info on the game, date for example.

Cheers

Cheers Sizzle - got that info from Wiki.

However, there are semis going back to the 30's and 40's and they will cost a fair few old bob.

Going to stick with the 50's and 60's

I got some old programmes from my Grandad years back. I think amongst them there were some international games from Hillsborough, and something like an English League XI against a Scottish League XI from back in the 40s or 50s. Also got some FA Cup Finals from the 50s including the Matthews and Trautmann finals, and some England v Rest of the World games.

You can't have them though, sorry

I've managed to get a list of the 3rd party games played at Hillsborough between 1950 and 1970 and there are 50 games on there!

Going to take some collecting!

If you go out to bakewell on a saturday in the scout hut there is a man that sells loads of old programmes for 50p or a quid - has loads of them from over the years?

Ayup surfinjim, if you can get your hands on a copy of the book:

Hundred Years at Hillsborough
2nd September 1899 - 1999
by Jason Dickinson

This book lists details of all the matches played at Hillsborough in those 100 years !
