and if you are vat registered you should also display your vat number.

and if you're ltd - full details as required by CH....

the list is endless of what people should do but you're right, certain missing data looks suss to a potential buyer.

okey fair enough, will sort that out asap.

At the moment im still learning about VAT etc, so how do I go about it? Do I simply just state "VAT included". What steps do I have to take. The VAT is included as Im not adding anything onto the price...

Also when you say I need to state my geographical location, would I simply just put this information in the "About Us" page?

Is there a site or a check list of any kind I could use to make sure Im doing everything correctly as it isnt my intention to miss these things out, im just new to it. No matter how obvious these mistakes may be :s

When you've done that you might want to read this useful article: http://mashable.com/2009/10/28/small...ess-marketing/

Then consider in adding your product for free here: http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=%...-8&sa=N&tab=wf

are you actually vat registered? Or have you bought these products and paid the vat on them? Cos thats not the same thing as being vat registered.

The sign up page is here: http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/products/submit.html

There are other sites out there offering similar services - Some are free, others aren't like Yahoo shopping.

Amazon charge £0.86p per item sold through their site as long as you sell less than 40 per month. see https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/seller-a...opic=200314070

It just a matter of discovering what out there as I don't have a comprehensive list on these.

Indizine might have one on her site?

OK well if you're not vat registered, you don't mention the vat at all then.

Just a point on the VAT issue Royb.
Unless your turnover is in excess of £67,000pa you do not need to register for VAT.

As far as writing your articles go, if I were you I'd start a blog rather than trying to write news articles on your site. On your blog, just write about stuff to do with your industry, it doesn;t necessarily have to be about alarms. Security, safety, etc. there's got to be loads of meat for you to get your teeth into. You seem like a guy who's really into what your doing, so let that show in your writing. If you've got good stuff to say, people will want to listen.

The odd link here and there in your blog articles (when it's relevant, don't go overboard) should drive traffic to your site by default.

Cheers, C

£68,000 is the vat threshold and you should register before you exceed it.

Thanks for the correction Indizine. I was even at HMRC this week and kept putting 67 then. Doh! Mind you I suppose at least I'm the right side of wrong (if that makes sense)

Thanks for that CT4Uchris. I will look into writing blogs and display it on my homepage. Whats the best site for writing blogs which people would read?

My mind goes blank when I try to think of things to write about. Its harder than I thought it would be writing an article/blog as I dont even know where to start. Obviously I cant be too off topic and want to relate in someway to security. But appeal to a large audience at the same time. yikes....

You have too many products to be doing this by hand.

What you really need to do is find out if there are any add-ons for your shopping script which create this google product XML file for you. If so, install that instead.

Otherwise you could be wasting hours / days everytime you add / delete / edit prices, products, e.t.c. instead of simply clicking on a button and be done with it.

If there are no such add-ons, then you should consider paying someone to write this script which directly use the google product API instead of creating XML files. You should also find out if there are any other add-ons that you can install that offer similar free shopping services.

I'll send you an example XML file anyway for just 1 of your product.

Article Marketing is the easiest and most effective way to get traffic to your site. videos are also a best way to get free traffic to website. The videos can be submitted across different social networking sites which gives tremendous exposure to the website on the internet.

Does anyone know of any content management software out there (free). I want to write articles and also add other peoples articles to my site and I was wondering if there was an easy way to do it?

e.g. I write the article, use the software and it integrates it with my website?

If that makes sense. Ive noticed sites like Drupal.org but can this be integrated into my own site?

confused...
