Hya, I graduated from uni in May & thought I would get a job straight away but I'm finiding it much more difficult than I imagined.

The thing is my degree is in Geography, my plan was to do a PGCE straight after & become a teacher. But after 3yrs of my degree & experience of working in a secondary school, Im unsure whether I actually want to teach Geography as a subject now & wonder if I would prefer to become a Primary school teacher.
So the plan was... to have a break from education, get a job in a primary school, which will hopefully confirm things for me & give me plenty of experience for when I decide to either apply to do a PGCE or GTP.

However its not been that simple, Ive applied to every primary school vacancy in South Yorkshire & had no luck, Ive applied for teaching assistant jobs, admin & office work, but it seems they all require experience. The majority also have really rubbish salarys which are pro-rata' and not all are full time.

Its now getting closer to September and there are less school posts becoming available, so I need a back up plan.
If I really cant find a job working within a primary school or young children, then I will just take any full time job with good pay. I will then try get some voluntary hours in and keep applying.

So does anybody know of anycall centre jobs available? Id prefer not to go to Ventura & I can't find any info to apply for the Ikea call centre or Royal Mail.
This is really now the position I thought i'd find myself in after all these years in education and debt ive got from uni.

I feel for you. Many of my friends are in the same situation. It's strange that many jobs wont want you if you don't have qualifications but will also not touch you if you don't have experience. How they expect you to ever get started I've no idea!

Have you looked on Reed's website? http://www.reed.co.uk, they usually have quite a lot of vacancies for that type of work.

that is unless they do not involve selling goods and services, such as the environment agency or the council, these ones are much more pleasant places to work as the focus is on quality of service, not sales targets.
