The wind chill didn't stop Graves Junior's getting started and 82 youngsters completed two 1k laps. It takes 20 volunteers to put the run on so please volunteer once or twice over the winter months to keep them going.

82 is a great turnout for the kids. I'll not bring mine until the weather is friendlier. I bet we 'll be looking at 200 come spring. Good work all.

The recent inaugural events in Sweden and Canada started without a points competition. So it comes as no surprise that parkrun HQ are doing away with the points competition from February 2017. More info here:- http://www.elliottline.com/parkrun/2016/11/26/uk-attendance-stats-26th-november-2016

I went along to Graves Park this morning and what an uplifting experience !

Kids enjoying themselves, out of bed early on a Sunday morning, not one of them holding a piece of technology. Shaping their future under the guidance of their parents. Could I have seen a future champion ?

Percy Pud seems to have had an effect on attendances. Both course records were broken in the prestigious local event. £1,000 went to Mohammad Abu-Rezeq, 29:57, and Rio 2016 Olympic 5000m finalist Eilish McColgan, 32:32. The times achieved would have beaten the best times at all local events, twice consecutively. Mohammed was the epitome of consistency passing me at 3k in exactly 9 minutes and completing each and every kilometer in 3 minutes!

No Castle are not doing a Christmas Day parkrun. Concord are though, as usual, with Barnsley I think the other nearest apart from Poolsbrook.

Can't link at the minute so Google search 'parkrun Christmas compendium'

Does anyone know anything about the Resolution Run at Rother Valley in January.

Very sketchy details on their website. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about the 12k route that goes on the rougher terrain paths around the park.
