I had a load of mine nicked last year, in fact the entire road got done, they seem to have taste as they only went for the good ones or the interesting/expensive pots.
I think it is somebody is nicking them to sell at car boot sales ect.

My friend had problems with people helping themselves to the tubs and pots outside her house. She got some long metal L-shaped spikes like tent pegs, and put them through the drainage holes in the bottom of the pots and into the ground before planting up. It doesn't make the pots immovable, just more tricky to quickly whisk away! It's been a pretty good deterent so far - none nicked this year.

Get yourself one of those cheap Micromark CCTV cameras. They are about £25 from the B&Q warehouse on Queens road. That way you can catch the thieving gits in the act.
Or you could use metal pots and wire them up to the mains... heh heh.

Some went from a municipal plant area in Crosspool - a sign went up to say they'd call the police!
