steveroberts   10 #3 Posted August 21, 2015 This might be of interest to readers. Innovate UK have finally got rid of the ridiculous themes to be eligible for an Innovation Voucher. Now, as long as you are a business with an idea, you can apply for an IV for £5K. The caveats are:  1. You can only work with a supplier you have not used before (which is bonkers but they are worried about fraud) 2. This excludes VAT, so if you are not VAT registered, you have to pick up the £1000 VAT (£5K plus 20% VAT) 3. you have to pay the supplier in full before claiming back the value of your Innovation Voucher  You can find out more at https://vouchers.innovateuk.org/ It is a lottery, but if you fail with your first application, just keep reapplying!  A bit of advice? Avoid Universities as you will get very little for £5K from them (and they will take an age before they doing anything useful to boot!) Lastnet IT Â Â 10 #6 Posted December 6, 2016 I've been on a number of Business Sheffield events and they've been great. Â The one thing I would ask, is if you could maybe vary the day of the week events take place on? There are a couple of courses I've not been able to take because they're always on the same day of the week (and I'm contracted to work that day of the week). Could you please look at mixing things up a bit?
 Share this content via...
RWM1967   10 #7 Posted March 4, 2017 This thread is to allow the advertising of free business resources or support that is being offered without commitment. Feel free to add details of any free resources or support that you or your company offers.  Try not to duplicate information and please edit your posts rather than post updates   I thought this thread was somewhere to post details about free services/support/resources? The service/support I offer is free, and it is without obligation or commitment, but another poster has objected to it wrongly believing that I was touting for business.  Although I do offer quotations, and it would be nice to get some business, that does not alter the fact that the service is entirely free and entirely without obligation or commitment.  I note that the poster who objected works for an organisation that offers paid for services, e.g. business loans (that charge interest, i.e. to make a profit), in addition to the free services they provide. This is the same as what I do, I offer an entirely free service, without any commitment from the business that I am supporting, but if they want me to provide them with a no obligation quotation for a service (that we receive a commission from) then I see nothing wrong with that, it is their choice.  I would also point out that any commission I receive from services I provide, is used to help fund a "not for profit" company that helps homeless people, so that they do not have to rely on government grants (which would of course be funded by the taxpayers).  With this in mind, would you please re-instate my post that you deleted?  Thank you.
