I have bought a good one from Maplins, and the same one was on offer at Makro the other week. Its a Swann, 2x pro 560 cameras and a recorder. Picture is colour in day time an turns to black and white at night. 600 tv lines for a decent picture. Cost me £250.00.

next time your in Maplins, have a look which cameras they use to protect their stock - it won`t be any made by Swann.

friend of mines involved with these people

far better quality and support.

I thought Swann were ok? Costco have a couple in their offer for Jan,

6 camera. 2 dome, able to take 2 additional. 120 day recording I think.

it`s the same camera as in most mobile phones - cmos sensor usually.

The police use one called a nightstar for surveillance, also nice and small but the picture quality even without any lighting is out of this world. I was gobsmacked when I saw the recordings.

I am in the market for a setup but want dome cameras, the scrotes don't like

them because they cant see which way they point.

our most expensive camera last year cost 38K but that might be out of your budget!

4 cameras - £480.00

DVR - £320.00

cable power pack connectors etc £100.00

always used to say allow a grand fitted - for something decent

Which Camera's are better the dome ones or the standard Camera. i`ve found a Sony with dome Cameras

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-600TVL-Security-business-cameras/dp/B009XXF082/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_1_M13B

thats a cmos camera - not good, we can get them for less than a tenner each!

trade version of same camera, better chipset, digitally adjusts for low light etc
