pete_fcs   11 #338 Posted January 8, 2007 Pete - it works!! Sounds really good too!  T  fantastic terry!  that means i can begin to add more tracks. the next one i want to upload is "expose yourself" by exit, who consisted of:  me - bass dave chaos - drums andy assle - voclas johnny gleadless - guitar  we were the best punk band in sheffield during the years 1990 - 1992.  in fact just his minute created this website, although so far had trouble uploading my favourite exit track, but some exit info is available here:  http://www.freewebs.com/sheffieldexit/index.htm
 Share this content via...
jake   10 #339 Posted January 8, 2007 They were a Sheff band? Greebo music? Saw them at reading in 87. Don't remember much though, except that Dumpy came on stage on a motorbike (wow )  This all brings back a lot of memories...  Trolley Dog Shag were a grebo band - lots of hair & denim & Stooges covers - great band - their bassist, Steve Mackey, ended up in Pulp - though after a haircut & image change!  Dumpy played (or still does come to that) biker type blues/R&B - he didnt live in Sheffield - just played here every other week... mickc   10 #340 Posted January 9, 2007 Melthebell,  Thanks for starting this thread, not only has it put me in touch with Pete from FCS to exchange memories, but has rekindled my enthusiasm for the whole band scene of the time. Its only the big names (league,ABC Cabs etc) that are ever thought of in association with Sheffield but there was a mass of musical activity in sheffield at this time. Its just unfortunate that the record company moguls seemed to visit for a fortnight before legging it to Manchester for the next 10 years.  Anyway I have loads of stuff by my band and many others and could contact most for permission if this sheffield website thing gets going  Cheers  Mick
 Share this content via...

pete_fcs   11 #346 Posted January 10, 2007 any one remember the follow-up band to the fcs? we ended up with mozaz on vocals, and did only one gig, followed by a few rehearsals before we split up!  matty k was on guitar, ziggy starlust on bass and me on drums.  mozaz christened us "the all new clean f*** city s***ters", which i thought was brilliant, and he came up with fantastic lyrics.  here's a pic from outside the rehearsal room at cundy street, 1991:  http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b171/sheffieldarchives/people/allnewcleanfcs.jpg?t=1168450731  STOP PRESS  i've updated my list of all my bands ever!  IT'S NOW GOT PHOTOS AND LINKS!  you need to go to freewebs.com then forward slash and my rude name in full without aestrixkxkxkx's i.e. freewebs.com/petef . . .
 Share this content via...

pete_fcs   11 #348 Posted January 12, 2007 also my updated list of all my bands ever (see two posts up) has been spotted by richard hawley and he describes the fcs as having been legendary!  fame at last   ...and just added this photo of media premonition today.  they were the fore-runners of slbc, pasc and psychoterrorists, although this photo was taken 12 years after the demise of this line-up of media prem:  http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b171/sheffieldarchives/people/SLBC1.jpg
 Share this content via...
