Heard from a good source that millhouses is finally a go and Longley park in the finding funding stage at the moment

Why are people not dissipating out from Sheffield Hallam park run? It doesn't make sense to me, especially when there is plenty of room at the other park runs. Could do with a few more at Castle!

I'm a regular Park runner, tis a great event and better still it's free. I used to travel to Barnsley (Locke Park) but now use the one in Rovrem (Clifton Park).

Have done the Rother valley circuit when it first started. Next year i'm going to try the Parkrun "tourist" theme and attempt a different one each week.

There's also one due to start up in Doncaster pretty soon, end of Sept IIRC "Sandal Park" .

Millhouses would help; it`ll probably be the fastest / flattest / easiest parkrun in Sheffield and it has the best café. I reckon those things are relevant criteria for a fair few parkrunners! I`d also say that Millhouses is the best park in Sheffield.

Think these parkruns are a great idea, jogging by yourself can be such a chore.

What time does the one at Hillsborough get started?

5 things are common to every (300+) parkrun in the world.

1. Same time every week. 09:00 England, Wales & N.I. - 09:30 Scotland

2. 5k

3. Timed

4. Café nearby for chat and socialising.

5. Free for ever

parkrun tourism is a fantastic thing. All the same system but all unique. I'm doing Woodbank, Manc this week and really looking forward to the track start and finish - how can you not sprint, like Mo.

I'm not sure about Millhouses being quick - there will be several dead turns. Roth Valley has none.

Hi all,

I'm hoping to do my first parkrun on Saturday. Was going to do the Hallam one but reading the numbers, I'll go for Hillsborough. Only problem, I have a 2 and a 1 year old and a rubbish old buggy...Any suggestions for running with the kids?

Kate :-)
