droplink   10 #1 Posted May 23, 2011 I only have a single key fob for my car, which is the only it came with when I baught it, and today the fob malfunctioned. It took me over 40 mins to unlock the car as the fob is the engine immobiliser as well, and if i use the key to open the door the alarms go off (this is normal on saabs that have remote entry)  I rang up Saab and was told I would have to pay £160+ for a new fob!! I almost died on the spot, thats expensive for a key! I know it has to be programmed to the cars ECU ect but £160??!  Is there anyone who can do this for cheaper? I been told to buy the key blank and fob from ebay myself and just take it to get set up to the car, but I have no idea were to take it, so any suggestions please? bevowley   10 #3 Posted May 24, 2011 I've just paid £122 today for a fob and have to wait 10 days before they have it in stock then another £70 to have it coded and that's for a C2. TrashyBook   10 #6 Posted May 24, 2011 Ring Phil Smith (0114 244 3440).  He's an independent Saab specialist.  I'm not sure if he has the kit to do keys, but I'm sure he'll be able to advise you on the cheapest option!
 Share this content via...

GrannyGranny   10 #11 Posted May 25, 2011 This may be a stupid question but have you changed the battery?  This happened on my wife's Seat and we changed the battery and then had to reprogramme the remote. Instructions were in the owners manual.
 Share this content via...
