Ignore those on top unless a roasting hot summer day when you'll take em on floating bread crust. I've had literally dozens out of them out over the years, up to 19lb. spankysufc   10 #4 Posted March 27, 2013 as megalithic says there is plenty to be had on the top in the summer just cast to showing fish with a freelined crust. a steady baiting approach will get the carps heads down but it can be hard going hemp and corn are a good start with luncheon meat over the top. try and fish tight to reeds and lillies as most of the carp get their heads down among these.
