Nottingham Forest v Sheffield Wednesday 18/02/17

Recommended Posts

My pre - assessment for the Wednesday team at the City Ground without the benefit

of an update of the player's fitness levels.

Goalkeeper.Westwood.

Defence.

Right back.Palmer.(If Lees plays , then i would put Sasso right - back and Palmer to the bench.)

Left back. Reach.( Fox injured.Pudil out of form).

Central defence.

Lees if fit or Sasso.( If Lees starts then i would put Sasso right-back.)

Loovens.

Midfield.

McManaman.Pace and trickery to provide proper service for Rhodes and Winnall.

Hutchinson.Again if fit in front of back-four.( if not fit then Davy Jones.)

Bannan.

Forestrieri.Wide-left.Best position where he's most effective.

Strikers.Rhodes and Winnall.Need to be given a run together,

With proper service from McManaman and Forestrieri and Reach

these two lads will benefit.

So my starting X1 will be the following . . . .

Westwood.

Palmer.(providing Lees does not start and Sasso remains CD.)

Sasso / Lees.

Loovens.

Reach.

McManaman.

Hutchinson.

Bannan.

Forestrieri.

Rhodes.

Winnall.

Subs.(depending on fitness .)

Wildsmith.

Palmer.( If Lees plays then i'd play Sasso right-back and Palmer to the bench.)

Lees./ Hunt .(If Lees does not make the bench then Hunt sub).

Wallace.

Abdi.

Fletcher.

Hooper.

Now a word on Forest. . . .

They have a top quality strike force in

Ross McCormack - - - Zach Clough - - - and Britt Assombalonga

so Wednesday's rearguard will have to be on their game.

So its 4 - 4 - 2 for me and its time for the lads to get at em.

Reckon it will be another tough match ,

but the team ive picked is an attacking line up.

Hoping this team gets the three pts . . . so a 2 - 1 win, a Rhodes brace

will extend our nice lttle unbeaten run and consolidate our play - off position.

I'd like to see both Buckley and McManaman let loose at some stage.

We're not creating a great lot of chances, and these two have exactly that quality.

I'm not sure of Buckley's fitness at the minute, but when he is fit, he should be given a proper go at it.

Time for a Forestieri holiday I reckon. We won't miss him a great deal, he's been on holiday for the last 3 or 4 games anyway.

I'd love it, love it, love it, if Abdi came out of his shell and showed us what he is really capable of.

On reputation, he's possibly the best player at Hillsborough. It's about time he stepped forward.

Decent bench.

I suppose we'll do our usual thing and go Hell for leather for the first 15.

Hopefully, we'll score in that time.

What we do after that (should we take the lead) is the big question.

I say keep going and dominate the whole 95. If history repeats itself, we'll hold back and live life on the edge.

We're not too good at living on the edge.

We've a good, experienced bench, so we have the bodies and the nous to see it through. We have to play it the right way.

Hopefully, we will play the right way, and entertain along the way.
