aurora5772 Â Â 10 #39 Posted January 23, 2007 Sorry, might be wrong, but: Number 1: Artery - weren't they Artery and the Parts Number 281: Isn't it Groop rather than Group Dogdrill? Number 255: Is there really a band called "Artex Monkey"? I was under the impression that this came from a website that spoofed the Arctic Monkeys... Â Were the Comsat Angels from Sheffield? lomaxkinesis   10 #40 Posted January 23, 2007 It was just Artery, Yes it is Groop, I spelt it wrong, the spelling is not important at the minute.  There was a spoof artist called Artex Monkey who has done one gig.  Comsat Angels were from Sheffield. aurora5772 Â Â 10 #41 Posted January 23, 2007 Iomaxkinesis - Sorry, wasn't meaning to be picky. I'm absolutely the last person who knows about this kind of stuff. I didn't notice you already had the Comsat Angels at number 136!!! Didn't know if spelling was important or not, not knowing what your project is - apologies if you've said, I've missed it!!! However, from dim memory of flyposters I saw in my youth, there might have been an "Artery and the Parts", as well as just "Artery". My significant other also thinks if you are listing, for example, Jarvis Cocker and Oasis as separate items, then Joe Cocker might have had a band called "The Greaseband", but he's not sure if they were from Sheffield or not. Hope this is some help.
 Share this content via...
lomaxkinesis   10 #42 Posted January 24, 2007 Yes cheers, to be honest my Dad has written two books about Sheffield music so I do have a pretty huge list of Sheff bands from the past, that list was done almost a week ago and has reached almost 700 now. which is very encouraging for what I have planned, although I do need to get as many of the bands recording as possible now, which is going to be extremely dificult.
