Brand New Pub/Restaurant at Handsworth - The Sword Dancer

Recommended Posts

I was amazed to see the new building near Asda turn out to be a pub/restaurant called 'The Sword Dancers', it seems to have popped up in no time at all!

I'm not sure if it is open yet, but it looked like it as I drove past. A brave venture in a time when pubs are closing down left, right and centre. It looks quite smart though, I wish them well.:)

Yes, strange to see this built directly opposite the Norfolk which is now a nursery - but good to see this old stone clad building put to good use rather than demolished.

Think The Sword Dancer (what a weird name) opens early to mid November.

Well it's certainly different, I wonder where the inspiration came from? Do you think it will do well in that area? It does seem quite busy around there.

Named after the Handsworth sword dancers. Handsworth forum asked for people to submit names and this was what they came up with. It should do well as it is much different to the other pubs in the area being a family orientated one I hope it does it certainly looks good.
